The High-strength cold-formed thin-wall steel structural system behaves a series of advantages for the low-rise residential buildings, including light weight, material saving, short design and construction duration, energy saving, environmental protection, industrialized production easily and etc.. This structural system has widely used abroad many years but used in China just in recent years. Domestic enterprises are mostly used abroad sets of technologies, skill and building materials production machines. Since there are great differences between abroad and China in the design and its application, so that it is essential to do the research of stressed skin diaphragm on this structure system.In this paper, High-strength low-rise cold-formed thin-wall steel structural system of Met Frame Construction Technology CO.LTD for engineering background, the wall frame is taken as an object to research of the Anti-force behavior, stressed skin diaphragm and ultimate bearing capacity. The mainly researchs to do are followed:(1) Using ANSYS finite element method for high-strength cold-formed steel wall frame structure of the independent effects of skin research, taking into account the material nonlinearity and geometric nonlinearity, the entire skin structure, modal analysis, eigenvalue buckling analysis and nonlinear buckling analysis. The calculated results based on finite element analysis of independent destruction of the wall frame shape, deformation characteristics and ultimate strength and so on.(2) The right combination of cold-formed steel framing wall "skin effect" to explore, analyze, "skin effect" of the main design methods, design assumptions, structural conditions, finite element model to establish principles and failure modes, etc. Analysis " stressed skin diaphragm "on the combination of cold-formed steel framing shear wall performance.(3) Collect and summarize once the skin test and theory, data research, get some help to the finite element modeling and analysis methods. (4)To explode and understand the main design method,design assumptions,structural conditions,principle of finite element model and failure modes of "stressed skin diaphragm", and research influence on shear capacity of wall frame.(4) Based on combination of wall structure and skin panels the finite element model to analyze the impact of skin effect of various factors, including: skin thickness, skin material properties and the self-tapping self-drilling screw pitch. Using the finite element method for buckling analysis of structures with non-skin panels to compare the structure, analysis of the above factors on the wall frame structure, the impact of shear strength. The results show that: with self-tapping screws Self-drilling spacing increases, the wall structure and skin composition shear strength reduced; as skin thickness, skin board increase in elastic modulus, wall shelf, and skin combination of higher shear strength.Finally, the paper summarized the work of the above, draw some useful conclusions, and propose to be further studied.
