Permeability coefficient is the capability of the water or other liquid passing through the rock and soil. It is an important parameter in the hydrology geological and engineering geology. This article content includes how to use consolidation method solving permeability coefficient of clay and the effect of the crystallization of AlCl3 improving the permeability of clay. Saline soil in Songnen Plain is widely distributed, its characteristic is silty clay and its pH value is in the range of 9.5-10.5. In the region's economic development process, people often encounter the problem to solve the permeability coefficient of clay and improve saline soil. Through Darcy experiment solving the permeability coefficient of clay is difficult, because the permeability coefficient of clay is too small. Because of saline soil's poor engineering properties, it brings the bad effect to road construction and maintenance, such as large-scale roadbed dent, road surface subside , uneven settlement, road frost heave and frost boiling. Because saline soil's poor engineering properties, it cannot use for highway subgrade stuffing. Saline soil replacement is not only consuming lots of time and effort, greatly increasing the road construction cost, but also bringing bad effect to the surrounding environment. The main reason leading to the situation is the saline-alkali soil. Because it is difficult to solve the permeability coefficient of clay and the saline soil's engineering properties is poor, there is practical significance to find the right way to solve the permeability coefficient of clay and to find the right way to improve saline soil.The paper studies the basic property of saline soil (silty clay) with the sample in the area from Song Yuan to Jin Bao Tun. First, collect existing methods of solving rock and soil permeability and find the shortcoming of existing methods. Proposed using consolidation method solves the permeability coefficient of clay. Second, using consolidation method solves the permeability coefficient of saline soil which has been improved by the crystallization of AlCl3. Last, evaluate that consolidation method to solve the permeability of clay and the crystallization of AlCl3 improving saline soil are or not appropriate. The main content of research as follows:(1)There is significant effect to use the crystallization of AlCl3 improving the permeability coefficient of saline soil. Samples containing the same amount of crystallization of AlCl3, their permeability coefficients increase with the increase in the number of days, but the value of samples'permeability coefficient will be stabilized at a range of certain value. Samples being conserved the same days, their permeability coefficients have little change with the increase in the number of days.(2) The consolidation method to solve the permeability of clay is appropriate. The method of consolidation is more convenient and efficient than the method of variable head Darcy experiment.(3) The cost of Aluminum chloride improving Saline soil and replacing Saline soil are almost same. The improved saline soil can well overcome the saline soil's poor engineering properties. If the economic and objective conditions permit, you can consider this method in actual projects.
