The support design of foundation pit work is complex and synthesized. The quality of this work is directly related to the project construction deadline and the safety of construction workers, therefore this work is one of the key issues in Urban construction. With the rapid development of the national economy, the construction industry is also growing prosperity, and the building height is increasing too. Till the year 2009, the completed world's tallest building————the Dubai Tower which has already reached 828 meters, a total of 160 floors. With the building height increasing, the requirements of the depth of foundation pit excavation as well as support structure are becoming increasingly high, and then some difficulties and problems continue to emerge. Thus, strengthening the theoretical research of the calculations in support design of foundation pit and the stability analysis could have a practical guide to solve the problems and improve the quality of construction in foundation pit project. This paper set the excavation and support project of Zhujiang Rome Building as an example. Firstly, based on the geological background of this project and concerning the economy, reasonable and safe principles, soil nailing was chosen as a support method. Then, the works of excavation and support design was done according to the relevant specifications, and the rationality of the design was proofed by the stability calculation. Afterwards, the finite difference software————FLAC3D which had a widely application in Geotechnical Engineering field was used to simulate the excavation and support processes of the foundation pit, and the analysis of Stress, strain and displacement were taken. And then the monitoring data was used to compare with the result of FLAC3D. Additionally, the deformation in the excavation process and the force in the soil nails were studied detailed. And thus, this work provides a favorable environment to guide and help the support design and construction of foundation pit.
