Face the continuing popular domestic auto market and more and more stringent requirements of national energy conservation policy in recent years, how to launch the new auto products for light weight, low fuel consumption,safe and efficient in the shortest time,has become the first problems to be solved for the vehicle manufacturers to enhance their core competitiveness.For non-load-type body structure,frame is the biggest core parts regardless of size or quality.Thus reducing the weight of the frame will play a significant effect to car's lightweight.The text is about making topology optimization for frame of cetain SUV offered by a domestic automobile enterprises, based software Optistruct.Firstly, to study the basic theory of the topology optimization; Transformed the frame CAD model into CAE model through Pre-processing platform of Hypermesh,then carved out of space which can be optimized;Through establishing the mathematical basis model of minimum strain energy for topology optimization,analysis and select the exact and appropriate parameters of the topology optimization; Established static multi-conditions and multi- objective topology optimization function according to the compromise programming method and efficacy coefficient method, choosed the appropriate weighting factor for vehicles service conditions,Eventually got the topology optimization results which was similar to the X-shaped frame. According to topology optimization results, established the improved frame geometry model and finite element model,then calculated the improved frame of the bending and torsional stiffness. According to the compromise programming method and effectiveness of multi-function static conditions established multi-objective topology optimization function for the use conditions of vehicles to choose the appropriate weighting factor, finally getted like X-shaped fame of the topology optimization results. Compared to the original frame structure it has improved significantly,and does not use to adjust more on the original body, suspension and transmission structure.Therefore, the topology optimization result has some reference value to the designers who will make the conceptual design for frame.
