With the rapid development of power electronics, application of various power electronic devices is increasingly widespread and the resulting harmonic pollution problems are being more and more attentive. In this context, the Power Factor Correction (Power Factor Correction, PFC) technology emerged as an effective method to control harmonic current and improve power factor and has been used in more and more application field.With the continuous improvement of converter switching frequency, the switching loss increases sharply, making the efficiency of traditional Boost PFC converter in serious decline. In order to reduce the switching loss and improve the efficiency of converter, one kind of Boost PFC converter with dual frequency is analyzed in this paper basing on the traditional Boost PFC converter and combining with characteristics of the Boost converter with dual frequency. This converter has the approximate PFC effect with traditional Boost PFC converter, but its efficiency has the promotion compared with traditional Boost PFC.This paper uses the one cycle control method by making a comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of average current mode control and one cycle control Boost PFC converter with dual frequency. After designing the parameters of the system's main circuit and control circuit,the system's simulation model was built by using Matlab software and a 200W experiment prototype has been manufactured based on one cycle control chip IR1150S,then the simulation and experiment of the traditional Boost PFC converter and Boost PFC converter with dual frequency were carried on respectively.Simulation and experimental results show that the Boost PFC converter with dual frequency based on one cycle control can achieve the better input power factor correction and efficiency has improved compared with traditional Boost PFC converter. In addition, the use of one cycle control Boost PFC converter with dual frequency can greatly reduce design steps, save design time and reduce the number of control circuit components, thus it can reduce the circuit board area and save the cost.
