Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) are widely used in industrial and agricultural production and the field of Aeronautics and Astronautics for their advantages, such as compactness, high efficiency, reliability and adaptability to the environment. Along with the continuous development of these areas, the speed control system for PMSM is urgently needed to have better precision, wider speed-regulating range and faster response. Based on the overview of PMSM speed control system development, this thesis firstly presents the process of building the dqO coordinate mathematic model for a PMSM, and then we mainly developed an adaptive fuzzy control algorithm of PMSM for the speed regulation and the speed tracking based on this model.PMSM is a highly nonlinear and coupling, structure varying, and multivariable object. Firstly, in this thesis the mathematical model of PMSM is built under the d-q coordinates. After analysis of vector control strategies, it chooses id=0 control strategy to decouple the system. Then conventional PI control method is used to track the speed of PMSM.This method has fewer design parameters and could be easily carried out. To deal with the variation of the parameters in PMSM,an adaptive fuzzy PI control method is developed to achieve better control effect..With the promotion of adaptive fuzzy control theory,the adaptive fuzzy control based on fuzzy neural network becomes a hotpoint in this field and it has already been proved that the fuzzy neural network could approximate any large-scale nonlinear functions under the certain conditions.A self-constructed fuzzy neural network controller according to the fuzzy neural network theory is designed with,the advantages of both fuzzy controller and neural network controller,and then a switching strategy is used to calculate the error term of the output layer. They are both used in the speed system of PMSM to achieve the desired performance. At the end, this thesis summarizes the whole work we have done, and then gives some conclusions and points out some future works.
