The Analysis Of Practice On Ehancing The Ecologically Senic Function In Shanghai Century Park

In the construction of urban ecological park, landscape designers and park managers face the vital task to achieve the ecological landscape view, according to the area features and functional requirements of the park, which combines special characteristics of the park with the surroundings of the city environment and carries both traditional and modern culture. Taking Shanghai Century Park for instance, three aspects of the mentioned issues are being discussed. First, on the basis of the botanical landscape design of Shanghai Century Park, together with eight year's maintenance and continuous landscape adjustment and practice from the opening of the park, the article comprehensively analyzed the characteristics and effects of the botanic landscape view in Century Park, compared the functional positioning of the park, seek the development direction and approach on deepening the botanic landscape construction in large scale ecological park in modern cities. Second, as the supervised data suggested, compared the features of Century Park and the surrounding city areas, and in consideration of the management and maintenance demands of the park, the article instructed the practice on the enhancement of the ecological landscape function in Century Park. Third, on the foundation of the original design, and with eight years experience and various needs on the landscape views, the functional enhancement principles and a complete plan were proposed so as to increase the functions of the ecological landscape in Century Park, and ways of improvement on the detailed scenic spots in the park were suggested as well. In this article, the issues put forwarded are in general popular and the results can work as reference to improve design on new urban ecological park and refurbishment of old urban parks.
