The solar water heating system (SWHS) can provide comfortable, hygienic and reliable hot water service for the resident. It is actually suitable to be promoted and applied in the city. With the shortage of construction lands in present, high-rise apartments have become the trend of development for residential buildings. As a result of the particularity of high-rise apartment, it is still in failing to combine the SWHS to the buildings perfectly.This paper pointed out the problems on integrating SWHS with high-rise apartment as two aspects: the integration with the appearance of building and the integration with the water supply system of building. It proposed three demands of the integration of SWHS and the appearance of building: functionality, security and aesthetics, and particularized the installing methods. And also it analyzed the suitability of high-rise apartment and SWHS and elaborated two kinds of SWHS which are suitable for high-rise apartment.According to the solar radiation situation of Hangzhou, the paper analyzed the masking effect of high-rise apartment on the solar collector installing height by software simulation. By programming it calculated the monthly optical tilt angle and yearly optical tilt angle of collector for three selection strategies (to receive the maximum annual amount of radiation: 22°; to receive the maximum amount of radiation except summer season: 30°; to receive the maximum amount of radiation in winter: 48°) .Finally, it introduced the example of a high-rise apartment integrated with SWHS in Hangzhou.
