Inheritance And Integration--Research On Landscape Design Of Central Axis In Mountainous Small City (Town)

Each city (town) grows up with historical process, and has its own dedicated memory and cultural origins. As an important part of the urban landscape, the landscape of central axis is an important carrier in demonstrating urban culture and image for its unique location, and it also has a positive significance of enhancement of overall environmental quality of urban.However, in the process of city development and construction, city space is undergoing radical change with the old city renewal and new town development. While, under the influence of culture shocks in globalization, many cities introduce advanced design theories endlessly by western countries, blindly seek foreign, large and gorgeous for that they lack of understanding and ignore their own actual situation completely in the construction process,eventually lead many cities lose regional characteristics and historical identity. In addition, some projects do not make an overall landscape planning, or post -construct do not follow all the pre-implementation planning, thus make the landscape of built-up areas show scattered state.In this paper, to create city axis view with distinctive characteristics, coherence and cultural charming through the transmission of culture and the integration of landscape element, we introduce the concept of inheritance and integration in the landscape design of central axis in mountainous small city. To begin with, as a point of view, it makes analysis and summary on the concept and elements of axis landscape. To clear the object and significance of inheritance and integration, it also makes analysis on the concept of inheritance and integration. With theories as a guide such as mounturban landscape, landscape design and urban design, combined with research on landscape of central axis in mountainous small cities, we make analysis on the status of cultural inheritance and element integration in the landscape design of central axis in mountainous small cities. And then, we make research on the ways of axis landscape design about culture inheritance and element integration. The ways are mainly composed of the following four aspects, the construction of overall pattern, the inheritance and integration of culture, the integration of space and the integration ecological. The construction of overall pattern determining the main idea of landscape. The excavation and integration of symbols of regional culture and contemporary culture attach "spirit of place" to the axis view. We take actions such as the construction of overall shape and a continuous scene, space node processing, the integration of natural and artificial environment, the integration of buildings, traffic organization and places to achieve the integration of space. The combination of the natural plant community and the artificial green construct a green ecological network in which the artificial and the natural green melt into one. Ultimately, the cities and people live in harmony with natural. At the end, taking the study about the axis landscape of Mazhenba new district in Wuxi city as a case. Then the theory is summarized and applied to practice, with a view to conclude the approach for the central axis landscape in mountainous small city, and to create a theoretical basis and methodological guidance for the landscape design.
