With the shortage of the petroleum resources day by day, heavy oil of relatively low price is used in the diesel engine. And the most important precondition that diesel engine can burn normally is controlling the fuel on a suitable viscosity. So study on the fuel viscosity and temperature system of the paper has important and far-reaching meaning on the environment that advocating reducing energy consuming in the whole world.The paper designs a suitable fuel viscosity and temperature control system which includes main steam heat and electricity heating device. Moreover, it generally includes the fuel temperature procedure control, temperature definite value control and the definite value of viscosity control.The linear mathematical model of the temperature control system is set up and the sliding mode movement equation and variable structure controller are established on the basis of thermodynamics which includes uncertain upper bound being known, following movement equation and two-order -delay linear system. Finally, simulations on MATLAB of PID control algorithm and the sliding mode variable structure control algorithm carried out which shows that the sliding mode variable structure control is able to respond quickly, robust against system parameters and external disturbances.As to the control of the fuel viscosity, research on the sliding mode variable structure control is carried out in this text dividing linear system and non-linear system and the equivalent control, the sliding mode movement equation and the variable structure controller are obtained. Among them, linear system includes looks space describing and the general state space describing. Non-linear model includes high-order differential equation, one imitative non-linear system and linear brief type separately.Finally, a PLC and the single-chip computer system are designed. Experiments on a half simulation system are carried out.
