The problem of coal fired boiler slagging is common in many power plants. It is also unsolved critical problem for safe, economical and stable operation of power plants. During the last decades, this problem caused innumerous economic lose. This paper studied the slagging problem of the 4# boiler in New Area of Tangshan Thermal Power Plant, conducted the analysis and study of boiler slagging mechanism, leveled primary air and tertiary air of cold state influencing slagging, conducted experimental adjustment toward cold state dynamic field, established ash melting point temperature prediction model combining with neural network theory and basing on the MATLAB software, the main characteristics of the model is to forecast the ash melting point temperature which will have an important impact on slagging, prompt personnel proceeding related inspection, adjustment and slagging control.
