At present, microgrid has gradually become the trend of distributed energy applications. View of uncontrollable output of PV generation system in microgrid, this paper put forward use of long and short-term energy management to control output of PV arrays. Daily output reference of PV generation system is the control objective of long-term management. Short-term energy management adjusts the fluctuations caused by load changes or unpredictable output of PV arrays. Hybrid batteries and super-capacitors energy storage systems are used to achieve the energy management. Simulation models are designed based on PSCAD/EMTDC platform, corresponding control strategies. Results show that the hybrid energy storage system can achieve good tracking of daily load forecast, and real-time power adjustment on the DC bus, reducing the adverse effects caused by output fluctuations of PV arrays on the microgrid. So the effectiveness of control strategies designs is verified.
