Development Of AC Dynamometer Controller

Engine test is very important to engine production and research. With the development of automotive industry, simulation of the real status is needed for the testbed and the control response speed and the control precision should be high enough. AC Dynamometer is the key equipment of the testbed. At present, there is still a long way to catch up with the foreign technology in this area. Thus, the research of the AC Dynamometer controller is significant for the development of domestic Dynamometer.The research status of AC Dynamometer home and abroad is summarized in this study. The author designs software and hardware of the AC Dynamometer considering with the research achievement of the laboratory and the form of the abroad Dynamometer. In this paper, the overall program of dynamometer controller is builded according to the EMCON dynamometer controller; control core programs and hardware are established based on the PC/104 bus criterion; man-machine interface program based on S12 MCU, the software and hardware design of debugging tool BDM based on MCU and the function of man-machine interface including display, keyboard input and communication with the host computer are accomplished; the communication of controller based on CANopen is implemented. The author also modify n/P, M/P, n/M and M/n mode control algorithm and make experiment under n/P mode through three ways. The result shows that steady control of the system is effective. Paper models the system based on the analysis of acceleration resistance model, and the experiments of the engine dynamic control shows that following of speed and torque has reached the anticipation; it would be a great foundation for the future researches.
