With the development of the construction of Metro tunnels, it will be often faced with many engineering problems about crossing construction is made in the tunnel technology. The influence of tunnel shield crossing through an operating railway should be paid much more attention.Taking the shield tunnel for Beijing Metro Line 14 goes down through Beijing-Tianjin Railway as a background, numerical simulations is carried out to study the settlement of ground caused by the construction and operation of a Metro tunnel. Firstly, a 3D numerical model is built and the results are analyzed. Secondly, a 3D numerical model is built with grouting reinforcement to the stratum. Thirdly, a 3D time history analysis numerical model is built. The main results are as follows:(1) By analyzing the numerical simulation data, the effect that shield digging has on horizontal and vertical land subsidence has been studied.(2) The simulation results indicates that grouting reinforcement to the stratum between the railway and the tunnel is an effective way to control the settlement of ground, and the value of several parameters gained in the calculation can serve as instructional value to the construction.(3) With the input of vibration acceleration history of subway train, a full dynamic analysis is carried out. The spread and attenuate of vibration wave caused by the city subway traffic system are analyzed.
