First of all this paper introduces the layout and node connection construction of steel wind column in the industrial building.According to compression-bending member and flexural member,we analyze and compare the wind column with hinged top and fixed bottom, define the calculation model of wind column.Secondly, this paper studies mainly effect of displacement on the top of wind column on moment at the bottom of wind column. For the traditional calculation model of wind column, the top is fixed hinge. It means that the longitudinal stiffness of workshop is infinite. But the theory and measured data show that the longitudinal stiffness of workshop is finite. Under the external force, because of the lateral displacement of longitudinal columns of workshop, the top of wind column has the longitudinal displacement, the adopted model is a structure which the wind column is considered to be joined with an elastic hinge on top. When we use the elastic hinge model to calculate and analyze wind column, recaction on the top of wind column will decrease, moment at the bottom of wind column will increase, so we define the moment magnification factorη. By analyzing hundreds of kinds of steel wind column condition, and using the mathematical statistics method, we get the value ofη.Finally, when the both sides of the wind colum is hinged, we analyze the force of wind column. Compared with the wind column with hinged top and fixed bottom, we get the results that the section of wind column can be used each other when the height HS is lower. As the I-section of wind column is variable, the traditional structural mechanics method is more complex, we use APDL to calculate the maximum flexibility of wind column under wind load.
