Along with the development of mountain water project construction, Hydropower Project Construction located in the mountains areas produce a large number of spoil waste, and The spoil will cause erosion of mountain environments. In order to protect the environment, according to the actual situation, a reasonable selection slag field in the mountains areas is an important part of preventing soil erosion. Spoil Dumping Sites for the formation of a slope, in a variety of trigger factors, may form a landslide or debris flow. The stability of the slag field research on disaster prevention and mitigation, reduce soil erosion, on the promotion of human engineering activities and coordinated development environment of great scientific value and social significance. The paper analyses soil erosion condition and deformation characteristics of slag field of Yang-jia gully in Xiluodu hydroower project, finds that hydraulic erosion and seepage plays a decisive roles in the stability of Yang-jia gully.the main contents and results are as follows:(first) The paper identify the geological,hydrogeological conditions of Yang-jia gully through collecting geological data, record the deformation behavior and deformation characteristics of slag field, analyses deformation mechanisms and failure mode to identify stability factors. Based on Swedish slice method, calculates the stability coefficient of slag field in flood conditions.(second) Through learning from previous rain made the soil erosion mechanism of slope, The paper analyses failure process of soil erosion and the stability of slag field downstream slope under the action of flood erosion. Erosion of the soil under rainfall made some preliminary discussion.(third) Mechanism of biotechnical was introduced in detail, the vegetation slope not only beautified the environment, but more importantly had a strong slope protecting impact, which could effectively reduce the rain and flood erosion on the slope, Thus in slope protection project, construction quality and routine maintenance work should be regarded seriously enough to achieve the desired results.
