Energy consumption for heating accounts for a large proportion of the total building energy consumption. Many heat sources for heating are constantly emerging with the low carbon strategy coming on stage, the adjustment of energy source's structure, the development of energy technology and the increase of requirements for environment protection. This paper studied on the economical efficiency, environmental influence, the availability of energy, social benefit and technical guidance of central heating by gas boiler, coal boiler and biomass boiler, which could provide theoretical basis for its application in the cities and towns of our country.This paper set up the central heating model for a residential place in the suburb of Xi'an city, chose the representative heat sources of gas boiler, coal boiler and biomass boiler for heating as the comparison plan, made a comparison of the three types of boilers in the aspect of economical efficiency, environmental influence, the availability of energy, social benefit and technical guidance by the fuzzy mathematical model. In order to match up to the actual existence, this paper combined the technical economy and heating engineering together. Such method brought the time-value theory and the dynamic calculation annual cost theory into the evaluation studies which made it more pertinent, objective and Comprehensive. The calculation results show that the biomass the best priority-degree, so the biomass boiler is superior to the traditional model of central heating obviously. Thinking into account the technological development of biomass, low-pollution, large reserves, renewable characteristics, large-scale development of biomass boilers can solve the energy crisis. It's expected to be an effective way to improve the air pollution. This paper evaluated the different heat sources for heating by the fuzzy mathematics, an evaluation method for comprehensive effect of different source heating performance is proposed. This study has a guiding role for urban heating mode choice.
