The Appearing And Hiding Of Structure

As the material foundation of space, the architecture structure is bound to find its existence in interior space. There are mainly three kinds of existing ways for structure in interior space: the first, acting as constituting elements of indoor surface and being in the state of appearing; the second, behaving as supporting elements of interior space and being in the state of hiding; the third, functioning as the compromise of the former two and being in the co-state of appearing and hiding. Different designers, different design views, different design issues and different design purposes all contribute to the different manifestations of structure.Starting from the relationship between the architecture structure and interior design, the paper has analyzed the historical development and theoretical background of the appearing and hiding of architecture structure in interior space and studied the causes of the emergence and development of the different forms of appearing and hiding in depth.The different patterns, features and significances of appearing or hiding of architecture structure in interior space have been further discussed through many case studies, still, their great influences on interior design have been evaluated and analyzed properly.It is hoped that the study of the paper shall evoke designers'deeper pursuit of high-quality space and concern for users and provide an active solution to create innovative and inspiring excellent space works.
