The technology of enhancement of heat transfer has wide application prospects, new technologies are emerging in an endless stream, the research of using vortex generators to improve the efficiency of heat transfer is developing rapidly. The previous studies mainly focused on the effect of enhanced heat transfer, with wide application of vortex generators organ, we have to research its surface fouling characteristic.The evolution curves of fouling were obtained by weighing in order to investigate the fouling processes of the surface of vortex generators. In addition, the experimental data has been processed and error analyzed. The impact of the vortex generators'surface upon fouling formation was processed according to the experimental results. In order to deeply analyze the effect of surface structure to the fouling formation, the flow field of several kinds of vortex generators was simulated by numerical method.According to the analysis and comparison, several kinds of preferably anti-fouling performance of the vortex generators were found in the experimental. The results show that surface structure has greatly affected the fouling formation, and surface structure changes the neighborhood flow field, and influences velocity of flow and mass transfer, also it influences fouling mass. For the different kinds of vortex generators, some factors such as the sizes, arrangement mode, interval of disturbing flow unit has different influence rules to the fouling formation.
