Ship Dynamic Positioning technology is a new technology of great potential for development which uses the ships'own propulsion to produce a certain force and torque in order to balance the offset position caused by external marine environment, such as wind, waves and currents and other external forces. The 21st century is the century of ocean, human's activity on the sea becomes more and more frequently, whether the exploitation of undersea oil, the laying of submarine cables or marine scientific surveys,all made strict requirement of the positioning of ship, So, in order to satisfy the requirement, dynamic positioning technology has made considerable progress with the integration of high-tech, many domestic and foreign scientific research institutes and professional universities'research on the marine dynamic positioning technology is in the ascendant. In this context, through the experiments on the DP testing platform is of great importance to get the technology of dynamic positioning.Ship Dynamic Positioning Testing Platform is based on the idea that to constructed a microform model of "Tai An kou" which equipped with excellent DP system on the proportion of one to one hundred. With this platform to construct the dynamic positioning system and to obtain the key-tech in this field. Obviously, the dynamic positioning system used in the real ship cannot be scaled down into the testing platform, on the other hand, the testing platform is mainly used in the mini indoor pool in the lab, based on this, considered the solvent of domestic and foreign counterparts, and based on the key principle of dynamic positioning technology, the issue will constructed a new DP system to suit this testing platform. Under the guidance of this idea, in this paper, it constructed the visual positioning system based on camera to satisfy the need of centimeter level positioning accuracy under the condition of the same proportion. At the same time, it constructed the testing and control system of the speed of DC motor based on the eight-bit single chip machine. On the other hand, it constructed the host computer program to make the position detecting system cooperated with the propel power control system. It constructed simulation model based on MATLAB to demonstrate the effectiveness of the system and finally analyzed the expansion and improvement of the system. The special research task in this paper can summarized as follows:(1) Analyzed the optical principle of camera positioning system, camera image acquisition system, the initial image processing procedures, communication program with the host computer and the system's structure parameters.(2) Analyzed the speed detecting and control system's structure of DC motor. Analyzed the building of the motor's mathematical model, as well as the realization of PWM speed control and motor speed detection.(3) Designed the host computer program. Analyzed the features and composition of system's host computer program(4) Tested the system's performance. Tested the system, and compare the effectiveness with the MATLAB simulation results, so as to prove the effectiveness of the system.
