There are a lot of steel-made components in the various industry and civil buildings.These components are corroded in natural environment, affected by exterior load or destroyed by anthropic factor. Because of the scarcity of social resources and the economy of engineering construction, there is need to reinforce steel structures. There are some problems in traditional strengthening methods such as welding, riveting, or cohering structure damage location with steel plate,etc(for example, stress concentration and area increasing of the former structure). And the technique of strengthening steel structure with damage by CFRP sheet is a new type, efficient and practical structure restoration technique. It has an significant advantage compared with traditional methods.In this paper, based on existing research data, some work about the theoretical analysis, experimental study and finite element analysis of reinforcing steel structure with CFRP sheet is done as following:In the part of theoretical analysis and calculation, after the adoption of new models and the substitution of physical parameters, the change of stress in bonding interface of CFRP sheets and steel beams under different conditions of various factors and several conclusions is obtained. At the same time, the analysis has some guiding significance for the experimental investigation and an role of test and verify of each other.In the part of experimental research, load tests are done with pasting different thicknesses of CFRP sheet with steel beam.Based on analysis of different loading effect, some valid data and conclusions are obtained.With the existing experimental study, after searching relevant literature and information,we find that there is few study about properties of composite materials studies in themselves. Then several conclusions about the properties of composite materials are made by experimental study, which has an important significance for in-depth analysis of reinforcing steel with CFRP sheet.In the part of finite element analysis, through the simulation model by "three-dimensional entity-Truss-shell" element adopted by the author, we can obtain the stress nephogram, bearing capacity and rigidity, etc. After comparative analysis of test data and results of finite element analysis, it turns out that the effect of modeling is better with this kind of units. It can reflect the actual situation accurately relatively.At last, the sheet theoretical analysis, experimental study and finite element analysis of reinforcing steel with CFRP are summarized, the innovations of the paper and further research direction are provided in the progress.
