At 14:28 May 12, 2008, there was an earthquake has taken place in Wenchuan county of Sichuan province, which magnitude reached to 8.0. The magnitude of this earthquake is large.The intensity is high .meanwhile, the influence reached widly. This is the most serious earthquake since the founding of China. The building have been severely damaged in the earthquake, and the damage and collapse mechanism of concrete frame structure has its own characteristics—" strong beam weak column" phenomenon is very obvious. The destruction mechanism of concrete frame structure is convery to the current design philosophy. From our country to the world "strong column-weak beam" design concept and method have been widely adopted.From design concept which based on the ability was first put forward by T. Paulay and R. Park, "strong column-weak beam" as a basic aseismatic means and an important aseismatic measure for many years. But in the Wenchuan earthquake,which damage phenomenon of frame structure preached as "column hinge-type" failure mechanism. What is the reason for it? So have an analysis for the"strong beam weak column"failure mechanism and search for how to achieve "strong column-weak beam" mechanism in the future seismic design is a very meaningful work.In this paper, there is a simple description to the damage phenomenon of Wenchuan earthquake, and have an introduction to the reasons for the"strong beam weak column". At the same time, there are some analysises for some of these reasons. SAP2000 is a large software which can design and analyse.and have very formidable analytical capibality.It has the ability to analysis the elastic and plastic of the civil engineering structure.Owing to the elastic—plastic analysis is an important composing of seismic design and the static nonlinear analysis is simple and useful.So it has been accepted by many engineering designers.It has been absorbed by the seismic code of our country as one of the elastic—plastic analytical means.This thesis has an analysis on reinforced concrete frame structure, which based on SAP2000 .There are some descriptions on pushover analysis and the development statue of it, as well as the lateral load mode and how to conform the plastic hinge.Take the the influence on carrying capacity and stiffness of cast-in-place concrete floor of the beam impact into considering. compared to base reaction—peak displacement curve of static pushover analysis,The inter—story drift and the distributing of the plastic hinge. Having a discussion on why the"strong column weak beam"design prospect can not achieve, and give some mend advices for the provision about the"strong column weak beam"of the code.
