Environmental wind field and building arrangements around air-cooled platform have great effects on the performance of air-cooled island; therefore, it is necessary to carry out numerical simulation study on the external flow field of air-cooled island. Based on the platform of numerical simulation software Fluent, this paper adopts standard k ?εturbulent mode and simulates air-cooled island's external flow field. Through analyzing the influence on air-cooled condenser's heat exchange efficiency by different wind directions, building arrangements around air-cooled platform and distances between air-cooled platforms, the paper gives out:(1) methods and theoretical bases for deciding air-cooled units'dominant wind direction; (2) trend curve of the influence on air-cooled unit's heat changing efficiency by building orientation, height and size; (3) the best distance range between two air-cooled platforms. All in all, the paper provides a theoretical reference for deciding direct air-cooled power plant'overall layout and also ensuring its economical operation.
