Research On Simulation And Modeling Of Large Scale AC/DC Power Systems Based On RTDS

Because of the rapid development of modern power system, large-scale AC/DC real-time power system simulation is necessary. In this paper, simulation modeling features of RTDS is researched. Modeling and experimental method of large-scale AC/DC power system real-time simulation is proposed. HVDC control and protection system test platform, high voltage line protection device test platform, and large electric network security and stability control system test platform are established based on RTDS. Through simulation experiments, a realistic DC line fault is reproduced. Correctness and effectiveness of 4 sets of line distance protection devices and synchronous oscillation splitting system are proved. RTDS is real-time, closed loop, continuous, digital simulation tool. It will be widely used in large-scale AC/DC power system real-time simulation.
