With current rapid economic development of the society and improvement of people's living standards, a new form of tourism consumption with more sense of individuality, diversity is needed to replace the traditional simplified and massified forms of tourism. Tourists have comprehensively higher demands for better services available in scenic spots, especially for a more complex function of those tourist spots signs (TSS). This project is supposed to discuss over how to optimize TSS designs through standardization, systemization and normalization, including contents of design features of TSS, conceptual design and planning process, to deal with practical problems occurred in TSS designing.There are still large gaps in scenic logo design between our country and developed countries and regions. In the construction of tourist attractions the scenic management, with only immediate economic interest in mind, put most emphasis on constructing and planning hardware facilities and scenic spots instead of soft environments hence ignored the information service needs of the tourists. Furthermore, the TSS planning and construction levels are restrained due to lack of theoretic guidance and technical research. This research project is to provide a complete solution for TSS optimized design. It has a practical significance for current TSS construction.This project, combing theory with practice research methods and example illustration, is a creative research based on visual signs conveyance, human engineering, landscape planning theory and materials science. It will improve the general theory of optimal logo design and be directly applied to the practice of TSS. Through optimal scenic design, those destroyed cultural tourism heritage will be re-recognized hence evoke tourists'memory of the lost culture.
