Wind energy is being attached great importance to all over the world because of its advantages:renewable, non-polluting etc. Wind power system has been a hot and difficult point in energy technology field. Since wind energy has the characteristics of lower density, random, instability and so on, this paper firstly analyses wind speed characteristic, and introduces the method of GA-SVM to predict wind speed. Secondly, this paper analyses wind turbine modeling, meanwhile based on Rockwell's industrial control network infrastructure, built wind power generation system simulation platform. Finally, the model of wind turbine and generator are built. The paper introduces variable pitch control strategy, which is the compound of fuzzy control and traditional PI control and is applied in the situation when wind speed is higher than rated speed.
