On the basis of the traditional urban grid planning, the Distributed Generation should be considered. The research background and significance of Distributed Generation is introduced. The power system load characteristics are analyzed. And the typical characteristics of the distributed powers (Wind Power, Photovoltaic and Micro turbine Generator) are studied. In the paper, the characteristics and basic theory of distributed power components are analyzed. The mathematical models of wind speed and solar radiation are established, meanwhile the prediction models of power load and hot-cold load characteristic are built for 8760 hours in one year. An improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed to meet the nonlinear characteristic of distributed generation. The thesis chooses the number of distributed power components as decision variables and the annual earning of system as the objective function, programming MATLAB software to optimize the capacity of distributed power. The result is compared with the traditional urban grid planning from the system annual cost, revenue and load characteristic, etc. Some helpful conclusions are obtained to arrive on the urban grid planning.
