In this thesis the significance and progress of the wide are a phasor measurement are introduced at first, and its application in the power system is presented at the same time. Then the wide area measurement system structure and the structure of phasor measurement unit framework and modular structure are introduced. In turn, the zero-crossing detection method and the DFT algorithm are discussed in detail, and the advantages and disadvantages of both methods are analyzed. At the same time the calculation of recursive Fourier algorithm is presented, and a modified recursive algorithm is presented through transformation.Finally, Kalman filtering algorithmis introduced in this paper, and a self-adaptive Kalman filtering algorithm is presented. Then the input signal model of Power System is constructed and be simulated by Matlab software. The analysis showed that the algorithm has faster computation speed and higher precision.
