At present, with the extensive usage of laser technology, laser-quality has become increasingly demanding in many areas.The measurement of laser beam power is a very important aspect in various optical experiments.This paper is about the measurement techniques of laser power for optical experiments.At first,this paper introduces the background of the content, and analyzes the meaning and purpose of the researching. By these foundations, the paper apply the achieved functions.Secondly, this paper introduces some commonly used laser power probe and laser power measurement methods, including the Laser Power Meter piezoelectric law detectors, Laser Power Meter interferometry detectors, laser power ring calorimetry, laser power of the heat exchange calorimetric methods, and laser power the entire absorption calorimetry. A laser power instrument is designed in the paper, include hardware and software. The hardware includes optical receiving equipment, signal amplification equipment, information processing equipment, communications equipment and LCD devices and so on. The software includes ARM embedded processor and computer display part. Finally, this paper describes the calibration of Laser Power instrument, measuring results, error analysis, and effectively apply a variety of solutions which improve the Laser Power measurement accuracy.Experimental results show that the Laser Power instrument can effectively measure the value of a laboratory laser power. The research and design of the laser power measurement techniques and instrumentation methods are available in some scientific guidance in this paper.
