Specific to the issue of "3000 Meters Water Depth Semi-submersible Drilling Platform" in the National 863 Project, some analyses and researches are presented in this paper, which is about the wind loads to water depth semi-submersible platform. Referring to the environment of South China Sea, the profile coefficient of wind load to platform is analyzed and calculated by both wind tunnel test and referring related criterion of platform. And using large-scale soft such as finite element ANSYS and AQWA, both wind loads and wave loads under the interaction of wind and wave are calculated, finally, get the ratio of wind loads takes the total loads, so does moment. The evolution of wind pressure distribution and wind loads changing to semi-submersible platform on limit self-existence status are analyzed. In this paper, wind loads and wave loads on limit self-existence status in seven conditions are learned. According to the specified environmental data of platform, the wind loads to both flat and aslant platform are studied by wind tunnel test and numerical simulation to the structure of platform using FLUENT. Test result shows relatively accurate profile coefficient of platform. And these can be the references to the research of wind loads to water depth semi-submersible platform. This paper also presents the methods of model test to getting platform's profile coefficient, so does its reference value.
