Research On Design System Of Face Cam Based On SolidWorks

Combing the cam design and CAD is one part of cam researching and application. Cam CAD software should be develped to make the cam design fastly and conviently.It is meaningful for cam design and application.Through the analysis of parametric technology and the CAD application state,Solidworks,which is an excellent software among the mid-range three-dimensional mechanical design on microcomputer,was chosen as the developing platform for parameterized CAD system for the cam curve parametric design.Based on deeply research on the related technologies of Solidworks application development,VC++.NET was chosen as the developing environment for the system.Scan cam curve fitting can be made based on the strong data processing ability of MATLAB and hybrid programing of the MATLAB with VC++.NET.Through reverse solving of the scanning cam curve points,face cam model with smooth profile curve can be gotten.According to the characteristics that continuous curve can be generated by defining fixed points in SolidWorks.Parametric variable setting of driving dimention and character attribute can be implemented by datum parameter and theory curve function,face cam model also can be built.DLL add-in program can be drived by SolidWorks API interface,after putting task required control parameter of cam profile curve into man-machine interface dialog,the system computed out the profile points by the theory curve function formula,then generated continuous curve to get requireed face cam model. Through the polynomial fitting and derivation of the cam profile data, velocity, acceleration and jerk of the cam profile can be gotten, which was used to analysis the curve property of the cam profile intuitionly and conviently.The system that was developed in VC++.NET with ATL and MFC class library has rich functions and easy to Perate/learn with the menu/toolbar of Windows Program style,all kinds of dialogs,plenty of hints and good fault tolerant mechanisms. After completing Parameterized computer-aided curve design of face cam profile,the other CAD/CAE analysis of cam strength,cam mechanism property can be performed.The method of face cam mechanism simulating in COSMOSmotion of SolidWorks was descripted accordingly in chapter 4 of the paper.The design developed face cam software based on cam profile curve function,combing with great CAD/CAE software.It's meaingful for fast shaping design of face cam model.
