At present, in the process of China's ongoing acceleration and reform of the existing lines and the building of new passenger special lines, the efficiency of the trains should be increased while the safety is ensured. In the automatic block district, the division of the track district is influenced by the train track interval, the train braking distance and the limit length of track circuit, which restrict the safety and efficiency of the train. When designing the automatic block interval districts, we should complete the division of automatic block districts according to the train traction calculation first, and then to carry out the relevant work of the railway signal design. So, if we confirm the length of the railway section quickly and rationally, it is beneficial to increase the efficiency and quality of signal design work.The division of districts in section tracks is connected to the arrangement of the signals and the distance between signals is the length of track districts. What the division of track districts asks for is the number of signals in the automatic block district and the concrete position. On the basis of studying the knowledge of train traction calculation and four-aspect automatic block and quasi-moving block tracking interval models, it designs the calculation of track district division, according to train braking distance and space interval method. The target is to find the method which can make the smallest train track interval among numerous projects of track district division. In Genetic Algorithm, every chromosome is a set of project of track district division, and each gene represents the information of concrete position of signals and outputs the division method, as the result, which has the biggest adaptive value in the calculation.Applying the knowledge of software engineering, combined with the relevant data of line condition and train characteristic and using this model design, the thesis has finished the district division software. Also it has achieved the function of intelligent processing of circuit data, drawing section map and train movement curve, track district division of sections. Through the simulation study of Wuhan-Guangzhou passenger special line of track section division, it has achieved good results, which shows that the approach used in the thesis is effective.
