All kinds of natural disasters have affected human production and life for a long time, especially the earthquake more seriously threaten to the safety of civil engineering. Traditional design methods can not effectively resist the responses of the building structures of earthquakes. The structural vibration control, used in structural design for seismic building structures are very important.High rigidity, light weight, rich in beautiful shape and comprehensive technical indicators are the features of grid structure, and the grid structure is a wide range of engineering applications. This paper used a piezoelectric friction damper for vibration analysis of grid structure:1) This paper applies finite element theory and finite element analysis software ANSYS to produce a square pyramid space grid model and use time history analysis method to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the grid structure, Seismic Action is imposed on the grid structure and analyzing the performance of the grid structure under earthquake. Since the impact of the earthquake, we get the nodes of significant displacement and acceleration and the member of significant axial force.2) In this paper, we used the piezoelectric friction damper to control earthquake response of grid structure. It's an adaptive friction energy device which realizes the real time adjustment of the friction of the damper. We analyzed the basic structure of the damper, the calculation model of the damper modal and the impact factors of piezoelectric friction damper are discussed in this paper.3) This kind of piezoelectric friction damper is installed in the grid structure and replaces a number of rods. Selecting a certain control objectives for making the comparison study of absence of damper and on the control of damper of the structure under the earthquake. We can draw a conclusion that seismic performance of the grid structure is obviously improved on the control of piezoelectric friction damper. We also select different installation positions for making the comparison study of absence of damper and on the control of damper of the structure. We can get the seismic performance of the grid structure by the different installation positions.Through the above analysis it can be seen that the piezoelectric friction damper used to grid structure can reduce earthquake damages. The displacement and acceleration of the nodes and rods of axial force are decreasing. We compared the layout program damper, can find that the dampers which arranged around the winding of the grid structure, is best for damping effect. It is the second for arranged the middle of the winding of the grid structure, and the third is arrangement in the ventral rod.
