Generally, long-span steel-arch structure is considered as a good seismic behavior structure style for its light weight and much more members, so lots of research foucs on its stabilitiy under static load and dynamic response under wind load while the further research about seismic performance is often omitted. However, many earthquake danmage showes that seismic problem of long-span st eel-arch structure is even more serious than ordinary structure style for its special dynamic characteristics and complicated influence factors to seismic response. Therefore, further research on seismic performance about it is of great theoretical significance and practical value to structure design. On the background of a long-span steel-arch gymnasium in a university, different seismic computation methods are selected to research its seismic response by the finite element software SAP2000. The main research contents is included below:1. Dynamic characteristics of the long-span steel-arch gymnasium are analyzed. Based on the theory of dynamic finite element, structure model is established by SAP2000 and the structure dynamic characteristics are obtaind after analyzing the established model. Meanwhile, the influence degree of the related parameters to dynamic characteristics of structure is studied by changing the parameters of span, rise-span ratio, support condition and so on, which can provide a fundamental data to further research about similar structure.2. Seismic response of the long-span steel-arch gymnasium is studied by Response spectrum method and Time-history method, considering the influence of vertical earthquake input to internal force and displacement of structure; then the seismic performance of structure under horizontal earthquake input and horizontal+vertical earthquake input is compared; Finally, some valuable suggestions are put forwad to seismic design of structure.
