Generally, arch dam is relatively thin, and sensitive to the changes of outside temperature and water temperature, so temperature load has become one of the main design loads. RCC arch dam used as a new material dam gets extensive application in recent years. Adiabatic temperature rise of RCC is lower than normal concrete. But RCC arch dam is of rapid construction speed and short intermittent time for projects in comparison with other normal concrete. It is easy to arise bigger difference in inside and outside temperature. Each layer of RCC arch dam once completed is the formation of the overall; the change of temperature will have a greater impact on multi-arch beam and displacement, even cause greater harm temperature cracks. Through the simulation of the temperature filed and thermal stress filed during construction and operation, it is the basis of the temperature stress and crack resistance in the analysis of the dam.In this article, according to heat conduction theory and finite element theory, the temperature field in the RCC arch dam during construction and operation are simulated and analyzed by means of three dimensional finite element relocating mesh method, and the distribution law of the temperature field in the RCC arch dam during construction and operation are systematically studied, and according to the construction process of RCC arch dam, the effect of lamination placement, construction interval, thermal insulation change, surrounding temperature change and water storage on temperature field in the RCC arch dam are also considered. Combined with practical data of some RCC arch dam, the temperature filed and thermal stress filed of six schemes during construction and operation are simulated and analyzed. The quasi steady temperature nephogram of central section in flood-releasing surface hole, the unstable temperature and thermal stress nephogram of central section in flood-releasing surface hole and upstream and downstream face, the temperature and thermal stress duration curve of upstream face,center face and downstream face point on typical elevation in crown cantilever section are provided. The distribution law of temperature in the dam and the form reason of high-temperature zone are analyzed. The research results provide reliable basis for the design and management of temperature control during construction and operation of this RCC arch dam and are of important reference significance for the selecting of structural design and temperature control design about similar projects.
