The trussed combination arch bridge originated by our country in the 1980's , is a new type. Compared with traditional truss bridge, it is simple and economical, so it has developed rapidly in the past 20 years. But many different cracks have been found at the joints of componet or the open and solid-web section links, especially at arch foots and twin vertical sticks.The deflection of some bridges is also large because of inadequate rigidity.However, the distresses are not solved by the methods commonly used. Some misunderstanding ideas used to reinforce the trussed combination arch bridges at present are analyed in the paper,and some new reinforcement methods are discussed.Firstly, based on the original design and construction drawing, using Midas 7.0, plane finite element model of Yuancun bridge in Guizhou province is established to simulate the construction process, and through static analysis under constant load, the live load and load combinations, the main reasons why diseases and deficiencies appear in trussed combination arch bridge are found, that the type of the bridge system itself birth defects.Excessive pursuit of technical indicators for the economy caused many cases of partial bridge collapse component strength not meet the requirements of design, safety reserves low, structure durability poor.Secondedly, the problems of the trussed combination arch bridge can not be solved by merely reinforing weak componets is shown through examples.The misunderstanding of structure defects and distresses causes is analyed,and some reinforcement advices are brought forward at the end of this paper.Finally, two new methods of reinforcement are put forward,based on the distresses condition and the structure defects.Taking Yuancun Bridge's reinforcement for application example, establishing finite element model of"Cable Arch Bridge", and analyzing its static and dynamic performances,the conclusion is that reinforcement scheme is feasible,because the strength checking of Road-â… is met, the structure has greater safety reserves and dynamic performance is also improved.The other reinforcement method is"energy-released method".Considering having been used to Yuancun Bridge's reinforcement,only the calculation principle, the construction technology and the application research situation are introduced.
