Slope engineering is common in geotechnical engineering and even in civil engineering. Its instability may destroy the safety of people's lives and property, encroach angricultural acreage, and hinder the local development of the productive forces .Compair to the rock slope, the soil slope is more instable, and its hazard is also more dramatic. So far, many methods used to analyze the stability of the soil slope have been suggested. In the suggested methods, some shortages are axisted. For instance, so much assumptions and missing the real critical slide surface sometimes even the more used limiting equilibrium method. Thus, it is necessary to give more attention on the problem of the soil slope stability. The method suggested in the study is based on limiting equilibrium theory, and it belongs to sub-section method of limiting equilibrium. This method needn't assumpt the style or loation of the critical slide surface, it need assumpt the location for the landslide shear crack of random slide surface only. It can calculate the slide surface corresponding to the location for the landslide shear crack. The method can also find the critical slip surface in the slope by some calculations. The work and main conclusions of the study are as follows:(1) Comment on the merits and shortages of some published methods for analyzing soil slopes stability based on introducing their principles (such as limiting equilibrium method, limit analysis method, finite element technique and synthesis method);(2) Establish the theory of the new method for homogenized soil slopes, and study the solution process and the solution method, and make the method programmed by Fortran;(3) Make simple verification to the established critical slide surface theory with the simple homogenized soil slope, and raise the existing question of this study and the aspect for deep study.
