Steel slag is a solid waste extracted from the impurity in steel refining by lime. Steel slag as an industrial waste which is renewable is an inventible part of the national policy of sustainable development since it can be applied to a comprehensive environment protection campaign. Therefore, the application of this renewable source can efficiently reduce environment pollution and the cost of space, playing an essential role in environment protection.Pervious ecological concrete is a new kind of environmental- friendly concrete. It has relatively big poriness which enables rains permeate into the earth's surface quickly, featuring a high strength and good water permeability. The application into urban construction can increase the safety and comfort of car driving, reduce slipping in rainy days and urban waterlogging, adjust the temperature of the earth's surface, absorb noise and alleviate the effects of urban tropical island.According to the analysis of chemical composition, mechanical property and stability of steel slag, the paper makes a research in the feasibility of applying steel slag as a pavement material. The main contents of the paper includes: the influence of forming on the property of pervious ecological concrete, effect factors of pervious ecological concrete and the research on its property, the research on the relationship between pore structure, water permeability and strength of pervious ecological concrete, the macro and micro analysis of pervious ecological concrete, the optimal design of pervious ecological concrete by different mixture proportions. It also makes a study on the mechanical analysis of pervious ecological concrete-made pavement by the analysis on the different water to binder ratios, paste-aggregate ratios, and the influence of different sizes of aggregate on the strength and permeability of pervious ecological concrete. Through this research, it puts forward a mixture design on pervious ecological concrete pavement with a poriness ranging from 5%-20%, a permeability above 10 mm/s and a breaking strength above 4.0MPa.Taking the aging steel slag as aggregate, the paper probes into pavement performance property made from the pervious ecological concrete and its effect factors. Based on its property, it makes a design on pervious ecological concrete pavement, providing data for the development and application of the material.
