At the beginning of this paper, it introduces the formula of solar radiation, solar hot water system forms, solar hot water system status, and so on. Then, by analyzing meteorological data, geographical data, and the solar radiation in Wuhan area, appropriate design parameters for the solar hot water system of Wuhan area are propsed. At the end of this paper, the result of the research is applied to a design of solar hot water system in a building and the efficiency of this system was analyzed. Some ways for analysis and some conclusions of this paper are as follows.The best inclination angle of solar collector for Wuhan area is researched in the principle of solar collector getting maximum amount of solar radiation through a year. Firstly, the average annual solar radiation and the total annual amount of radiation are calculated, according to the total amount of radiation and direct solar radiation of each month in Wuhan area. At the same, the changing of total annual amount of radiation is described in a figure. After calculation and analysis the best inclination angle of solar collector in Wuhan is 19.8°. And if the inclination of the collector is limited by the building's circumstances, the proposed inclination of collector angle preferably not more than 30°.The amount of solar radiation has been calculated when the azimuth is changing in the condition of inclination angle 20°and 30.6°. Through calculating and analyzing, the annual amount of solar radiation changes slowly, when the azimuth is changing at a certain range. And it is also found that the annual amount of solar radiation changes slower when the azimuth is 30.6°than 20°. And if the azimuth of the collector is limited by the building's circumstances, the proposed azimuth of collector preferably-20°to+20°.The values of the main parameters of the area calculation of the solar collector are suggested in this paper. It can beAt the end of this paper, there is an example of a residence in Wuhan. The solar hot water system of this building is designed. The economic and energy saving of this system is analyzed at the same time. In this project, the solar hot water system and the architectural are designed at same time. The collectors are going to be installed in the south of the sloping roof. And a centralized collecting and household energy storage system is selected. Through analyzing energy efficiency of the solar system, it is found that it has a positive significance on reducing carbon dioxide emissions and protecting the environment.
