With the rapid development of the power electronics, microelectronics technology and modern control theory, it has emerged a trend that AC drive replace DC drive in the field of power transmission. For large-capacity production machinery, such as rolling mills, mine hoist, ship propulsion and traction drives, AC variable speed synchronous motor drive and DC drive not only has the same superior speed performance, but also has the overload capacity, high efficiency, small size, light weight, moment of inertia is small, easy maintenance and high reliability. Compared Synchronous motor to Asynchronous motor, Synchronous motor also has the ability of high power, small capacity inverter, good torque characteristics in the field weakening region.First of all, this paper describes the mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM), through analyze the mathematical model of the PMSM, propose the control strategy, using isd=0 control PMSM. The paper also exhaustive describe space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM), using the SVPWM trigger IGBT to control PMSM. On the base of the mathematical model of the PMSM, propose the sliding mode, and using the mathematical model of PMSM design the sliding mode observer to estimate the PMSM rotor position and speed.Thought control is determined, first of all, built simulation model using MATLAB, simulation model includes two aspects:one aspect is based on control isd=0 strategies, set up current loop and speed loop, by regulating the PI, made the system to meet the control requirements. Another aspect is base on variable structure, by analyzing the mathematical model of PMSM structure sliding mode observer. Upon completion of the system set up after analysis of simulation results, the paper referred to the whole system of thought control is robust and satisfactory performance.After the simulation of the system, using the large number of peripherals of the digital signal processor (DSP) TMS320F2812, design hardware and software system, through commissioning of the system experiment, to achieve the system of PMSM with a position sensorless.
