With the advantage of low cost and high reliability, especially its unmatched longer enduration relative to airplanes, Airship, which is a lighter-than-air gas used to provide lift aircraft, is widely applied both in military and civil areas. However, most manned airships can not satisfy some special tasks (for example, long-term disaster monitoring), so reaearch of unmanned airship becomes a hot topic and design of Flight Control System (FCS) is a great central task of its development, while Flight Control Computer (FCC) is one of the core components of FCS, which effects on the performances of unmanned airships. Therefore, there is an urgent need for entensive FCC research. The topic focuses on a kind of FCC based on a distributed idea. Main Control Computer which employs TMS320VC33 and CPLD as its core, and Servo Control System which employs MCU of MSP430 as its core are proposed. The main research contents include the following aspects: 1) FCS of a small low altitude airship is studied, in view of structure and features of a small low altitue airship, design method of FCS is proposed as a research basis of FCC. 2) FCC of a small low altitude airship is studied, hardware design of FCC which focuses on device selection and detailed circuit design method, is carried out based on previous research experience, on this basis, system software such as analog-digital conversion, attitude solution algorithm and servo-driven algorithm are supplemented to build a FCC for a small low altitude airship with features of compact structure, low consumption and strong expansibility. 3) System debugging of FCC for a small low altitude airship is studied, test data analysis on A/D data acquisition, serial communication and servo control system shows that: the system designed is rational and effective, and can be well positioned to meet flight control requirements of a small low altitude airship.
