Typically, wind turbine blade is constituted of several airfoils, and wind turbine rotor aerodynamic performance can not be maximized without optimized combination of airfoils with superior aerodynamic characteristic. So it is quite essential to investigate and analysis wind turbine airfoil aerodynamic characteristic for fully understanding the whole wind turbine aerodynamic characteristics. At present, domestic wind turbine manufacturers normally purchase blade design solutions directly from abroad, and during the process of wind turbine load calculation, domestic manufacturers choose to encrypt airfoil data for property protection. Aimed at above problems, the thesis conducted research on wind turbine dedicated airfoil and its design and analysis methodology. The main research work of the thesis includes:①Analysed geometric expression style of existing wind turbine airfoils, including nondimensionalization,chord length,thickness,camber etc; Identified the aerodynamic parameters to be analyzed, including lift and drag characteristic and pitch moment characteristic, and further investigated the stall characteristic which has great impact on wind turbine airfoil aerodynamic characteristic.②Extensively collected and analysed dominant wind turbine dedicated airfoils, and based on the application of NACA airfoil on wind turbine, compared and analysed the geometric features,aerodynamic characteristics and applicable wind turbine types.③Conducted research on low Reynolds airfoil design and analysis software suitable for wind turbine airfoil, and investigated the strengths,weaknesses and applicability of Javafoil,Profil and Xfoil; Studied the widely applied wind turbine airfoil design and analysis software Xfoil; Analysed the aerodynamic characteristic of FFA-W3-211,FFA-W3-241 and FFA-W3-301 (designed by the Aeronautical Research Institute of Sweden) via Xfoil, and compared them with obtained experimental data, verified the feasibility and reliability of its calculation model; Furthermore through the aerodynamic data of FFA-W3 three airfoils, studied the effects of airfoil geometry and Reynolds number on wind turbine airfoil aerodynamic characteristic.④Dissected the available calculation models suitable for wind turbine airfoil design and analysis, and presented the pros and cons of individual calculation model; Proposed to establish wind turbine airfoil aerodynamic analysis model by way of inviscid and viscid coalition, one-way coupling method to solve wind turbine airfoil aerodynamic characteristic; and established the aerodynamic analysis model of wind turbine airfoil via inviscid panel method and viscid boundary layer method.⑤Based on the wind turbine systematic analysis platform, incorporated the module of wind turbine airfoil design and analysis; Fulfilled the platform establishment and interface design of the wind turbine airfoil design and analysis module by Visual Studio 2003; Meanwhile, realized airfoil geometric expression and wind turbine airfoil aerodynamic model via C/C++;Conducted sample analysis of the module, compared the results with Xfoil calculation and experimental data, and validated the feasibility of the interface design and reliability of the model calculation results.
