This paper mainly describes the changes of the limitation of Specification of earthquake Resistant Design for Highway and Bridge Engineering in our nation from the limitation of Specification of earthquake Resistant Design for Highway Engineering (JTJ004-89) to the detailed regulations of Guidelines for Seismic Design of Highway Bridges (JTJ/T B02-01-2008), and Comparative Study of the two limitations. The conclusion of the thesis is obtained by comparing in detail the sub-sections of the two limitations. This paper gives some revisal comments on the detailed regulations of Guidelines for Seismic Design of Highway Bridges (JTJ/T B02-01-2008) on the basis of Comprehensive comparison of the conclusions.Referred to correlative literatures, firstly analyzes the limitation and the reasons for limitation change. Then analyze the earthquake resistant goal, classification and criterion of the two limitations by comparing the detailed regulations of Guidelines for Seismic Design of Highway Bridges (JTJ/T B02-01-2008) and the limitation of Specification of earthquake Resistant Design for Highway Engineering (JTJ004-89).In the previous analysis, the paper compared with the design and calculation method for two limitations, summed up the proposed new method of the earthquake resistant Design and calculation in new limitation. The paper also discussing and illustrating the unspecified nonlinear anti-seismic design, seismic mitigation and isolation design and anti-seismic measures in the limitation of Specification of earthquake Resistant Design for Highway Engineering (JTJ004-89).JIANGGONG road is the model for the seismic analysis and calculations. Firstly, according to the recommendations and requirements of the limitation of Specification of earthquake Resistant Design for Highway Engineering (JTJ004-89), analyzing the elastic response spectrum and checking the seismic intensity for the structure. Secondly, according to the detailed regulations of Guidelines for Ssismic Design of Highway Bridges (JTJ/T B02-01-2008), analyzing the elastic response spectrum and checking the seismic intensity for the structure. Then I use the fiber elements analyzing the elastic-plastic time history response in the potential plastic zones of structure,and obtain the plastic failure state in the potential plastic zones of structure. Lastly, based on the conclusions, make some recommendations to the detailed regulations of Guidelines for Seismic Design of Highway Bridges (JTJ/T B02-01-2008).
