With the development of our country's economic construction in recent years, most of the four lanes highway builded in the past can not meet the growing need of the traffic. The expansion of the old way become more and more important today in order to not let it being the bottleneck of the economic development. However, in the process of widening, different settlements between the old subgrade and the new one may cause the longitudinal cracks, which will influence the use tenure and application effect of the roads. Therefore, the new fill subgrade must be special treatment. This research mainly study ways of broadening roadbed, such as laiding geocell reinforced geogrid, using geosynthetic materials, compacting the loose soil and so on. Based on extensive highway reconstruction project in Sichuan continous old subgrade treatment techniques, different subsidence of finite element simulation analysis, geotechnical centrifuge model test means the difference between subgrade in widening engineering settlement control technology research.Using finite element analysis software MARC development and numerical simulation analysis, improve the reliability of numerical simulation analysis and pertinence in the paper. Using numerical simulation more accurately fill subgrade are analyzed, and the settlement of deformation characteristics for the construction site of the implementation of effective engineering measures provided valuable data.By using the geotechnical centrifuge installation displacement measurement system, established the actual centrifugal model test in the paper, the study of geosynthetic materials and roadbed subsidence and the differences of deformation control during construction, the practical application of geosynthetic materials.
