The application of converter technique in hydraulic system of ship steering gear is late-model system, which consists of frequency-converter, asynchronous machine, fixed displacement pump and fin-tilting machinery. Through changing the speed of motor by frequency-converter, can adjust hydraulic loop flow and implement the rudder control of fin-tilting machinery. The system of hydraulic marine steering gear using inverter technology has simple structure, high efficiency, energy saving and high reliability. But this system had terrible disadvantage of time-varying parameter and typical strong load disturbance. According to the traditional linear control method can't solve inherent characteristic of the system. Such as stability of the low motor speed, directional stability and response speed. The research and development of a new intelligent controller to fit performance requirements of the ship steering system is called. In this paper, carrying out the research on the ship steering was achieved. Firstly, according to the design requirements of the frequency hydraulic system of ship steering, by means of the experimental method and mechanism to figure out the mathematical model of the system was applied. To provide theoretical basis for the selection of the control schemes, the stability and frequency domain of the system was analyzed.Secondly, to improve strong robustness and response speed of the system putted forward the control strategy of fuzzy adaptive PID and single neuron adaptive PID. Using the MATALB/simulink simulation software, the proposed control strategies were compared with conventional PID, and the best strategy was selected.Finally, the design of measurement and control system was completed based on LabVIEW, to achieve the control and online data collection of the ship steering systems. Through the analysis of test data, the choice was verified.In this paper, fuzzy adaptive PID and single neuron adaptive PID separately as controller of the ship steering system. Through the measurement and control system to control and acquire data, the experiments show that performance index of the control strategy was satisfied with the standards of the ship steering. For frequency hydraulic system replacing original shipping steering gear pump control system, the paper made beneficial exploration. Realizing intelligent control of ship frequency hydraulic steering gear for navigation is very meaningful, which can reduce steering system in power system load coefficient, but also improve the working environment, and obtain the effect of noise reduction and energy saving. With frequency conversion technology developing, ship frequency hydraulic steering gear system will have broad application prospects in shipping.
