In recent years, our country's highway construction and transportation industry and automotive markets have made rapid progress. One hand, it greatly contributed to national economic development, but it also brought road traffic accidents have been increasing in the negative impact. And our country is a mountainous country, those hillside road slope steep and the slope length is long. In this situation of poor road downhill braking, must ensure that vehicles traveling in the downhill at the end of the road to the ramp brake system also has sufficient braking performance. As the truck have large kinetic energy, temperature rises fast in continuous braking, accident prone. Therefore it's necessary to carry out the warning of the truck when brake failure.Based on vehicle data processing in Shaanxi Province in 2009, we identified the research model. Through theoretical study and discuss the structure of the braking system and its brake process, we analyzed the common faults caused by brake failure of brake system, and clear the power of brake system during the transfer process, then we established a relationship model between brake pressure and brake deceleration. From this relationship model, I set the alarm limit value of deceleration, and further established the brake failure warning program. Though the braking performance test of drum brakes I verified the brake pressure and brake deceleration the accuracy of the relational model, and demonstrated the brake failure warning program. And then we built up a practical vehicle braking sound and light alarm system for car brake failure occurs during a variety of circumstances, to give the driver effective warning signal. The study results provided a reasonable solution for the safety of heavy vehicles traveling downhill mountain in our country.
