With the rapid development of China's economic construction, urban traffic congestion is serious, particularly in recent years the expansion of urban area and urban population growth, forcing the road we must adjust the plan accordingly, and in the adjustment of the intersection is The most critical issue. The increase intersection capacity and reduce traffic jams have been the focus of academic, intersection capacity and signal timing, number of lanes and traffic characteristics of the entrance there is a great relationship, paper presented by adjusting the signal timing and the entrance lane increase the number of intersection capacity.Papers from the intersection traffic operation characteristics, combining with the traffic conditions and lane conditions on signalized intersections affected by the signal controlled intersection capacity conversion coefficient, the article describes the system's ability to focus on intersection types, obtained by canalized, and signal control measures can reduce and eliminate conflict.Signal phase through the design method and design principle, calculation of signal timing, signal control optimization summarized in three areas, split optimization methods, phase optimization method used and the signal length optimization method. Come to a reasonable signal configuration, can improve the intersection capacity and increase safety through the intersection.
