In most parts of northern China in each of the period of 3-5 months of snow, snow has severely affected the smooth flow of traffic and security, to transportation and people's daily lives to bring a lot of inconvenience, especially the freeze on the road and thin ice. Therefore, clearing roads of snow is a major winter highway maintenance work. It is meaningful for reducing traffic accidents, improving the transport efficiency of vehicles, effectively playing the role of transport arteries, and promoting economic development.This paper describes the status of snow removal.In the context of longitudinal slope the paper introduces the variety of snow machines and snow-melting agent based on the investigation about the snow machine manufacturer and function.Snow machine classification, characteristics, structure and melting agent in the major categories, principles, selection standard are discussed. The removal methods and processes of different states of snow and ice have been studied;The snow machine was equipped with on the basis of the related theory of snow machine configuration.
