With the development of road construction, damage caused by semi-rigid base widely used in China becomes more and more serious.Lean concrete base with high bearing capacity, good resistance properties and durability has greater development potential.New non-vibration molding method has excellent technical and economic effect;therefore it requires for higher working performance of lean concrete.Futher research of its workability is necessary.Several aggregate gradations for dense gradation lean concrete and porous lean concrete with non-vibration molding method are suggested according to the achievements of aggregate gradation for dense gradation lean concrete and porous lean concrete in current codes and domestic and foreign literature.Fractal dimensions are propesed to characterizing aggregate gradation for lean concrete.By analyzing the applicability of workability evaluation method widely used in engineering and main influencing factors for dense gradation lean concrete, vebe consistometer method can be used to evaluate workability of dense gradation lean concrete with non-vibration method.Vebe consistometer value can be used to be evaluation index for lean concrete.By comprehensive consideration about mix design of lean concrete, VB value range of different gradation for lean concrete are reconmended.By analyzing influence factors of porous lean concrete with non-vibration molding method, margin cement mortars method is proposed to appraise the workability of porous lean concrete.By comprehensive consideration about mix design of porous lean concrete, the value range of margin cement mortars are proposed.
