Ground fissure in Xi'an, one of the typical geological disasters, has caused serious harms to the construction crossing the cracks. The disasters have warned us of the subway security. Now Metro Line 1 & Line 2 is under construction. So we need do some studies to assure the safety transport operation and construction of metro. The soil-tunnels (U-shaped) interaction in the environment of Ground fissure activities is discussed in this paper.In this paper, ground fissure, it's geological disasters and the possible failure modes of subway tunnel are discussed on the basis of the existing research data.And model of the soil-tunnels (U-shaped) interaction modeled and simulated to study the mechanisms in the environment of Ground fissure activities. The main points discussed as follows:(1)Discuss the causes, development and extension mechanismof the ground fissure in Xi'an. Force, deformation and failure modes are also discussed in the environment of active ground fissures.(2) The model of the soil-tunnel (U-shaped) interaction will be refined and modified in the environment of active ground fissures. Characteristics of the model will be discussed and summarized. The ways of simplified calculation and numerical simulation is used to analyse the force, deformation and failure modes of U-shaped tunnel through ground fissures in Xi'an. Here Midas.GTS will be used to deal with the problem.All analysis above proves that various components need to be considered when we study the issues. Finally, the law of the soil-tunnel (U-shaped) interaction, in the environment of the ground fissure in Xi'an, is summarized. And the combination of results of research can provide theoretical and technical support for metro tunnels across the ground fissure.
